Hey you-
yeah, you. Thanks for showing up for me! For checking in and reading my blogs and investing those golden nuggets of time! You mean a lot to me and I'm so freaking honored you’re here.
So, here’s the thing with Idaho Avenue- things are changing. After having Fitz, I realized where I want to spend my time, and foreshadowing- it's not 30 hours working + prepping + shooting + editing weddings. It’s making our house a little more of a home. Laughing and crying and playing with our family. It’s more writing, more reading, more yoga and even more quiet mornings. It’s serving my family first, and everyone else second.
What’s that look like? Basically, I’m not going to be taking on many wedding clients. Don’t get me wrong, I still love love, still cry at your love story, still, cheer and scream with your engagements and excitements. These times are s o important, and I want to make sure I am as present in my story as I am in yours.
Now that we have that out of the way, here’s what you can expect from me and what you’ll find on the site.
Us. you’ll still find family updates and all those things in between. I’ve been toying with dropping social media, and this will be the step in for anyone wanting to follow along with us.
Lifestyle Photography. I’m selectively taking on engagements, newborn sessions, and small + intimate weddings.
Food. it’s a love language I speak and it's nearly as high on the list as Austin. I want to share with you the recipes my dad has taught me who his mother taught me. I want to highlight our favorite shops around town and the best thing we ate. I want to share the dinner dishes that are always on rotate on my menu and the treats everyone asks for.
Home Design. When I worked at a local construction company, I was able to work with Interior Design and Styling. I absolutely loved it. From there I started to invest more in our little 104-year-old craftsman, and I want to share what we’ve learned. I think everyone likes a good before and after anyways right?!
Weddings. I still love them. I love the story, the romance, the details that tell little things. I just can’t leave them! I’m going to share my favorite vendors, break down styles and share what I think the next trends will be.
#sharingiscaring and I just want to share with you the stuff that matters to us, so maybe you see that it can be done, that you find a dinner recipe when it seems you’ve eaten the same thing for a month. That you get an idea how to make that weird wall work or a new paint color for your TV wall.
That's whats up with me lately. It’s been a six-month announcement that I just couldn’t really figure out how to say it. But if I’ve learned anything in the last 6 months, its to
Just. Start.
